ShineNow is an inclusive, supportive and exciting new drama program for children and young adults living with a disability. ShineNow exists because we believe that every person should have the opportunity to feel empowered by and make friends through the performing arts.

Our team of passionate, youthful facilitators are  committed to creating the most fun, high energy and supportive environment possible.

Our workshops focus on warm-up games, weekly skill acquisition, theatre and improvisation games as well as the creation and practise of different short skits.

Our current programs are in Elsternwick, Thornbury and Kew with more locations opening soon (contact us to find out where!)

Our vision

We believe that too many amazing moments and experiences go unperformed and unseen due to a lack of opportunities for young people living with a disability. At ShineNow we are a team of youthful drama enthusiasts who have all been touched in some way by the love and warmth of the disability community here in Melbourne.

Passionate about providing the same opportunities we have been afforded in our youth , ShineNow’s goal is to create an inclusive, empowering and fun drama opportunity for children and young adults living with a disability.

INCLUSIVITY

At ShineNow, we are shutting down barriers between the arts and young people with special needs. We believe everyone deserves an opportunity to get involved in drama and feel empowered to step into the spotlight and perform. Our weekly programs will assist your little performers in building confidence in themselves and a passion for creativity.

SUPPORT

Your young star is our number one priority, and we will ensure they feel supported and cared for during every program. ShineNow is a safe space and a no judgement zone because that's what drama is all about. Everyone in our weekly programs is encouraged to be themselves, and that's the atmosphere we promote in our weekly programs. The sillier, the better!

Not only are we focused on developing your child's skills, passion and confidence, but ShineNow is also the perfect place to make friends and have fun. ShineNow is a community where young artists can meet imaginative, like-minded spirits and bond on their creative interests, building long-lasting friendships.
